Waco Police Department

Waco PD makes arrests throughout the city and works alongside other agencies on joint operations. When officers arrest someone, they handle booking and then transport the person to the McLennan County Jail. The city does not operate its own lockup for long-term holding.

For police reports and incident records, contact Waco PD directly. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, gives you the right to request these records. Submit your request in writing with as much detail as possible about the incident or record you need. The department has 10 business days to respond. Some records may be held back if they involve an active investigation, but the department must tell you what it is withholding.

If you do not find them, they may have already bonded out or been released on their own recognizance. For arrests from several weeks ago, check TDCJ to see if they were transferred to state custody. You can also call the McLennan County Jail by phone to ask about a specific person. Jail staff can confirm whether someone is in custody even if the online roster has not updated yet.
